This was a hard one.. The last time I did anything that resembled dancing I wound up trying to explain to the nurse what 10 drunk twenty-somethings were doing at Childrens Hospital at 3am. (Hint, it involved a glass shard in my leg and 7 stitches.) The band was Merry Go Drown and the song was a cheesy metal cover of Back That Ass Up by Juvenile.
I couldn’t find that but they also covered Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit so that’s what you get. :)
Really, who didn’t spend every waking moment of their life in 1986 listening to Licenced to Ill? I remember singing Paul Revere in the cafeteria with Christian Olavesen once, trying to figure out WTF the word “fly” meant.
This song was played a LOT at Lafitte’s after Katrina. My friend Randy Bush and I would do the little dances and sing the little “dip dip diddydip dip dip” parts and crack each other up all night. Randy even stayed with Alberto and I for a while after I moved to DC and he got a job at MICROS in Columbia, MD. Randy and I had a falling out around the end of 2008 and we haven’t talked since. I’ve sent emails and left messages and even tried to friend him on FaceBook and he hasn’t replied to any of them. I really miss him and wish we could reconcile.
