Eminem to be interviewed by Secret Service

This is the silliest thing I’ve ever read.
The line in the song “I don’t rap for dead presidents, I’d rather see the president dead. It’s never been said, but I set precedents and the standards, and they can’t stand it!” is just the same ol rap bravado that we’ve been hearing since the early 80’s. I think the administration needs to take a reading comprehension class before they practically accuse people of treason. :)

I’ve mentioned it on a few sites but now I’ve finally managed to track down a copy of Fucking Stop It Already.

This is not work friendly. Hell it isn’t kid, bowl or table friendly either but her fist is mighty friendly with the back of her throat, ifYouKnowWhatIMean.

With friends like that… who needs a gag reflex! HA!

Basically, if you have a shred of decency left in your being, avoid this movie like the plague. Or, if you’re like me… go for it. Just make sure your food is properly digested first.

I can still hear it playing even though I closed the video window. I’m going to bed before I puke.

I’m here but I don’t know where I stand

I’ve spent the greater part of today sitting in front of a blank TV nursing a headache from sleeping too much, listening to the Testosterone Kills cd Dan brought back from New York. A favorite critic-quote of mine from their website: “What simon and garfunkel might have been had they fucked each other and grown up on nirvana and techno” -new york magazine High points of the album for me are the first song, Where I Stand which is techno that I would make if I made music. They blend the introspectiveness of folk with a beat you can dance to. :) Come Out makes me want to come out of the closet again… well there’s always work. Hmmm.

Come out come out whereever you are.
Go and get what’s yours!

Downloading squeezes the art out of the album

Excellent article about the demise of the album as we know it. It seems to me that it’s the other way around: more like the demise of the album is what is encouraging downloading. People just don’t want to pay $20 for an album that may or may not only have 2 or 3 good songs on it.

I have a feeling the album will be around for many years though. I can see the industry splitting into two camps. One side that is made up of the single oriented disposible pop music. The other side “serious musicians” that continue to put out full length albums.

The quote I like best is from Ray Manzarek, who has mixed feelings about all this:

“We were at an advantage in the ’60s, because we had to deliver only a total of 40 minutes on two sides of an LP. It’s asking too much of an artist and composer to put 75 minutes on a CD. In a way, young artists are enslaved by that length.”
