I Am Vincent’s Seductively Fluttering Eyelashes

Last night I went to Lafitte’s to replace a laptop keyboard for one of the bartenders and then went to the Pub afterwards to see who was out. There was a really cute man sitting in the corner of the bar, by himself, drinking a beer, obviously waiting for someone to talk to him. He was maybe late 30s/early 40’s and wore a very light yellow dress shirt, light purple/yellow/brown striped tie tugged a little loose from his neck and a brown pinstripe suit vest.

He was quite possibly the hottest man in the world.

I walked over and stood next to him at the bar and in a bold move that is fairly rare for me when I’m sober I say “do I know you? You look really familiar.” (Cheesy as hell, but it’s the best opening line ever. Really.)

He looks up at me and in a British accent that could fry an egg he says “I don’t think so, I’ve only been in New Orleans since this afternoon.”

His name was Andrew and he’s an actor and playwright originally from England but now living in New Zealand. He’s “on holiday¹” for the month, visiting the U.S. by train. He’s gone to San Francisco, L.A., Seattle, and now New Orleans. He left this morning for Chicago, then New York and leaves for home from Miami next weekend.

After we talked for a while,I released him back into the wild. He kept telling me he was staying in a “hotel not far from here” and “just across canal street” so I’m pretty sure he was fishing for me to go with him. Damn weeknight! The thought of either a) walking back from canal st to St. Ann to get my bike at 3am or b) waking up at 6am to walk to my bike, pedal home, get dressed and make it to back to work for 8am was just too much trouble.

Andrew, is this you?So I came home and did some e-stalking. I’m aproximately 91.8% certain this is him. The voice recording sounds like him and it looks like him, only slightly more flawless and airbrushed. Click the picture for his bio at aucklandactors.co.nz

Andrew, is this you?

So, instead of staying the night with my fantasy come true, I rode my bike home at 1am and had a fast food bag of garbage thrown at me from the window of a passing car. I was the victim of a post-katrina drive by trashing.

¹ Jesus, that’s hot.

I’m Alive

Yes, I’m alive. I’ve just been in a terribly unblogful mood lately. I finally added some pictures from chicago, I hope you enjoy. I’m particularly fond of my photos of the B’hai temple and the creepy picnic benches around the tree. Pretty soon I’ll get off my ass and post some descriptions for them, but for now you’re on your own. Feel free to post a comment and let me know what you think they are though. :)

Goodbye Norman

Although there hasn’t been any official word, I think Norman is no longer working here. Although I don’t want to start posting work gossip on here (too late) I heard something about his delusions being places in the wrong hands and he was asked to go home the friday I was in Chicago and he hasn’t been back since. Yesterday when I went in the printshop all of his pictures were taken off the wall. I dug his photocopy of Morgus out the trash and hung it next to my desk. If nothing else it’s a reminder of just what this place can do to you if you’re not careful. Kidding. Norman was a loon but he was… Norman. In some strange way I’ll miss having imaginary hand granades thrown at me, or being help up (and eventually shot anyway) by Norman and his invisible gun. Perhaps one day I’ll look back and laugh at the pictuesque landscapes he’d draw with his crayons and markers – and the dead bodies with our names written above that filled them. Oh well norman… Wish I could have said bye. Please don’t come back and kill me. :)

I’ll have some exciting photo’s from Chicago as soon as I have enough money to get them developed!

It’s Been A While

My, how time flies. It’s been a while since I posted. I’m actually a year older… the big 2-8. hehe I wish I had tons to write about, but it’s been pretty slow in the life of Vincent. I had my birthday party a week early at Celebration Statio where I played hyper-violent video games with Marshall and Jason. I finally saw, for the first time, Dance USA or whatever that silly video game was. IF you’ve never seen it – run, don’t walk to your nearest video arcade and check it out. It’s like video line dancing for two. I was curious why 99% of the 20 people that were crowded around the game were asian. In between games it looked like Tiananmen Square as people scrambled to put their quarters on the machine.

Last weekend, I spent my birthday moving furniture and computers around Dan’s office and developing a nasty case of the shakes from a couple of glasses of banquet coffee. BTW, If there’s anything I’ve learned from my life and my mother, it’s that no matter how many times someone tells you they “don’t even like birthdays” they always like to hear those two little words.

The good news is… I’m going to Chicago tomorrow night. My brother, my nephew and I are driving up there to see my mom. I’ll be a big geek and try to post a “hello from Chicago” post or two. :)

Dan is hosting a VIP party for anyone who shows up (up to 20 people) at 360 tomorrow night (Friday) at 9:30. 2 free drinks for just showing up. I advise you to make it out there and say “Whazup!”

Yes… I am looking for someone to trade cars with. I have a 1991 Honda CRX in fair-good condition (CV Joints are going, no A/C, short in pass. side bright light,) and I am looking for a 60s/70s VW beetle.

Anyone?
