2am and I can’t sleep because my head is killing me

We had a great day today, our second day in Billings, Montana. First we drove around down town for a few hours trying to find the Rimrock Mall, then we hung out some more with Dan’s parents for a while, followed by spending the rest of the evening with Dan’s super-cool cousin Noni and her equally cool husband Kent and son Kasey. :) (Shout outs to her kitty Zach!)

Tomorrow we’re driving down to Powell to see Dan’s hometown and then to Worland to stay with Dan’s brother Curt. (I hope I spelled that correctly!) Before that road trip, we’re going to get a late breakfast with Kint and make a few stops at a used camera store we passed today and at a pet store to get Kurt’s snake some food (read: mice. ick.)

By the way, the home page looks all ugly because I screwed it up before we left, which has been causing it give errors whenever you try to load it. So, in case you wern’t able to read that first post, check out the kitty cam. I miss my kitties!!! I’m f’ing exhausted, so I’m going to bed now. Good night!

I’m in Montana.

So far it’s like Twin Peaks meets 7th Heaven — but in a good way. Dan’s family have been great to me since we got here. Dan’s dad is hillarious… always telling jokes and stories. Kind of like my mom’s husband except without the overwhelming feeling that you’re somehow being manipulated.

We were supposed to get a Chevy Cavalier from the rental place, but it wasn’t clean yet or something so we ended up getting a Toyota Corolla with a CD player! I can’t wait to cruise around Montana as the only carload of fags listening to Public Enemy. :)

We laid over in Minneapolis for about two hours. I was really scared that I was going to have to bludgeon the first person that spoke to me in that fucking accent but the only one I heard from from some indian girl (dot not feather) at A&W so I let it slide just because it was such a bizzare mixure of sounds coming from her mouth. Did I mention that all the fast food places here are staffed with curteous, polite, completely non-ethnic people? Kind of culture shock to hear “Welcome to McDonalds, may I have your order?” instead of “Welco’ to McDon’l’s, Mav’yoda?”

We just stuffed ourselves at the Continental Breakfast at our Super 8 motel. Mmmm. Not sure what’s going on today.. I think I’m hanging out with the in-laws and then going to spend time with Dan’s cousin Noni – whom I met yesterday and seemed extremely cool. I’m typing this quickly so it’s probably riddled with errors. Oh well. :) I’ll fix it later. I’ll try to post a bit more later tonight.

5 hours down, 163 to go.

It’s funny how used we get to having someone in the house with us. This afternoon Dan left for Montana for the week – five hours have gone by and already I feel like Tom Hanks in Cast Away. Michael came by to watch American Idol with me and left a little over a half hour ago – and now I feel like I haven’t had contact with another human in years. I swear, if you see me talking to athletic equipment – someone please call a doctor for me. Being an E sucks the big one.

At least I have the kitty to keep me company until next Tuesday. Well, unless he opens an artery in my leg while trying to crawl up on the couch with me.

Oh well. It’s getting late. I think I’m going to try to sleep on the couch tonight with the cat and watch tv till I wake up sometime tomorrow – hopefully before I have to leave for work. Speaking of which: after work I have class at 5:30. After class I have to go up to the radio station until Midnight. Can you say “long day”, class? I thought you could.

Meow meow, help me, meow.

Happy Fourth of July

1:20am and I’m going to bed. Just wanted to log on and wish everyone a happy Fourth of July. Well, it’s no longer the Fourth of July, but isn’t it the thought that counts?

I found out yesterday that my friend, Alberto, accepted a job with the social security office. The downside to this is that there’s a 9 week trainging program starting in 14 days – which means he wont be able to make the Disney World trip that we’ve been planning to take Labor Day weekend. *sigh* Dan’s already switched plans to go home to Montana Wyoming that weekend, which is a good thing for him. I’m basically screwed unless I want to go to Disney World by myself – which I don’t see being all that likely. Julie said something about going somewhere else… that would be fun too, but I really want to make it to Disney before Mickey becomes public domain. (Upon researching this just now I see that Mickey doesn’t enter the public domain until 2019. Hmm.

Time to go to bed. G’night.
